I understand. Going to therapy is a big step, and before you start, it would be nice to know a little bit about the person you’re going to be working with. I hope that by reading my blog posts, you’ll get an idea about who I am and how I work. Many of them relate to High Sensitivity, based on the research of Dr Elaine Aron; if anyone has ever told you you’re ‘too sensitive’, why not find out more from my blogs? This is a trait, not a disorder, and I believe it can be a real gift.
I’d really like to know what you think about some of the subjects I’m writing about; because ultimately, the blogs are for you, and I’d like them to be of use.
If you’d like a free 30 minute “getting to know you” online session to find out if therapy is for you, please get in touch here. For more general information about therapy, the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) have plenty of information on their website here.
You can also follow my Facebook page Lazuli Psychotherapy & Counselling Online where I have tips, information and videos on a variety of topics.
If you’d like to suggest a topic for a blog, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you! Contact
You’d think it would be the first thing I’d check having booked a short break to Cairo (many, many years ago)… that my passport was in date. Recognising some of the indicators that you might be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) can cause mixed feelings; it can be a relief to understand why you feel as you do, but you might also be worried about having a ‘label’. My first blog, “Highly Sensitive Person, Am I One?” gives further information on what … Continue reading 5 Tips to Make Your Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) Life Easier
My last blog here, talked about whether you are, or might be in the 15-20% of the population who are Highly Sensitive People (HSP). It’s sometimes hard enough to work out what we need on our own, but add in a relationship, and it becomes doubly hard. And we are all in relationships. Partners, family, … Continue reading Highly Sensitive People (HSP) and Relationships
Statistics show that around 1 in 5 is a “Highly Sensitive Person” (HSP for short), and so it’s possible that you are. This blog looks at how you can find out. My blogs share information about what it means to be HSP, and how you can live your best life as one. What Does HSP … Continue reading Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) – Am I One?
This is the weekend after International Women’s Day so, obviously, today is NOT International Women’s Day. On Friday, my Facebook feed was FULL of messages celebrating women; pictures of pioneers in science, sport and politics. Some of the words used to describe these women were, “Amazing, inspiring, incredible, awesome, brave, optimistic and beautiful.” I’ve chosen … Continue reading Today is NOT International Women’s Day
I love learning new information, I really do. But it’s not without issues. As soon as someone ‘discovers’ something, it probably pushes out, overturns or disproves something I thought I knew. There’s the problem in a nutshell, there are no fixed rules for life. Whilst it can be exciting to learn about all this new … Continue reading Rules for Life?
